Colors
Recommended Colors
Soft, neutral earthy colors (pictured) are recommended for your session, as they will place the focus on you/your family and look best with my editing style.
Colors to avoid: black, primary colors
Black, being a very dark color, can cause the eye to wander from the subject of the photo. Primary colors like yellow, red, and primary blue can cast unwanted colors onto the skin and face.
Prints
Don't be afraid to incorporate prints if you love them! Look for small/delicate prints that aren't too distracting, and only have up to 1 print for every 3 or so people, or up to 2 prints for 5 or more people.
Recommended Attire

Mom Options to Consider
Outdoor:
- Midi or maxi dress. This can be as fancy as a gown or as casual as a linen midi dress.
- Trendy jumpsuit, romper, or overalls
- Unbuttoned jeans and a bralette or crop top

On a budget? Amazon often has knock-off versions of popular dresses/outfits.
Dad Options to Consider
Outdoor:
- Henley or T with colored neutral pants
- Sweater with neutral colored pants
- Stylish jackets if the weather is suitable (this can be a fun little prop for the session because he can wrap it around you, you can wear it yourself, etc.)
Shops: try H&M, Old Navy
Toddler/Child Tips
Outdoor:
- Rompers/jumpers are helpful if you have a toddler in diapers because they don't ride up and show the diaper.
- Layers to add textures- cute sweaters and/or cardigans work well
- Cute but comfortable boots/shoes that they can walk in

Note: You do NOT have to wear a dress or jumpsuit for your session. I simply have postpartum friendly dresses and jumpsuits in my client closet as an option for those who would prefer not to purchase something to wear.
Tips for Prepping for your Session:
- Look at style inspiration on Pinterest, etc.
- Try on outfit/s before hand to make sure everything fits
- Leave time to iron - outfits/dresses are often very wrinkled after shipping
- Don't forget about shoes, if applicable
